Rate of Pay: $21.00 hr.

POSITION TITLE: Direct Support Staff

POSITION SUMMARY: Support the daily needs of CCH Clients.

(Serving adults with developmental disabilities in all activities of daily living)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Act as advisor to clients.
• Participate in the development and implementation of client goals.
• Assist with meal preparation when needed.
• Teach basic personal skills to clients, such as cleaning, safety, hygiene, etc.
• Maintain a safe and clean living environment.
• Support clients in securing transportation as needed.
• Monitor and assist in providing or meeting daily needs.
• Lift and transfer tenants who need such assistance.
• Assist clients in shopping and managing funds.
• Attend all designated trainings and meetings.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to read, write, and comprehend English. Ability to accurately relate any incoming messages to the appropriate person. Ability to work cooperatively with others.

• Ability to advocate for and assist tenants in achieving their personal goals.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift at least 35 pounds on a daily basis.
• Ability to handle household chemicals.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must pass Washington State DSHS and Federal background checks.
