JOB LOCATION: YMCA-Schlessman ASO is the home location for this position, but this position does require travel to all other locations

HOURS/DAYS SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 86.67 hours per pay period

POSITION SUMMARY

The Aquatic Director, working as part of the YMCA of Metropolitan Denver, will deliver professional customer service and relationship building skills to the aquatics team. The incumbent will exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and innovation in all aspects of their work. Under the direct supervision of the VP of Centers and Contracts, the Aquatic Director will create and ensure an excellent experience for all members. Responsibilities include developing, organizing, and implementing high-quality programs and ensuring consistency, efficiency, and innovation across our indoor and outdoor pools. Manage our association aquatics budget, develop, and improve the YMCA aquatics programs and services, staff and member retention and recruitment of new members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supervises and evaluates center aquatic managers.

• Helps develop and monitors aquatic budget.

• Ensure that safety is always a priority in your pools and adhere to YMCA Aquatic Guidelines and YMCA Risk Management Guidelines

• Attending board meetings as requested for the contract locations.

• Sets up and oversees swim team agreements for the various pools.

• Ensure all pools are open and operational for summer season

• Ensure staffing & schedules meet contract requirements

• In-services for all locations, ensure guidelines for in-services are being followed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in physical education, recreation management, business or equivalent or 5+ years of aquatic experience

• Experience in management multiple locations

• Obtain YMCA Team Leader certified within three years of hire date

• Should hold current certification in the following: YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor, Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard, Certified Pool Operator or must obtain within 6 months of hire.

• Must be currently certified in CPR, First Aid for the Professional Rescuer, (Trainer preferred).
