PURPOSE STATEMENT
To lead the Black Bears Ballpark & Team Operations to insurance our facilities are clean, safe and compliant with team policies, local laws, Lease provisions as well as league requirements. Insure the playing field meets all baseball requirements for team, league and WVU. Be the liaison with WVU on all stadium matters, WVU baseball plans, shared fund. Direct team/equipment operations to meet annual goals.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
Overall Management of the West Virginia Black Bears Ballpark & Team Operations:
Develop annual operations plans to meet requirements of local laws, Lease and league by laws
Propose adjustments to annual plans based on YTD results and emerging issues
Closely track all operations expenses including the shared fund
Prepare and communicate goals and priorities to staff
Insure that associates are continually learning and developing to improve
Coordinate all business aspects with accounting.
Represent the Black Bears with day to day operations and WVU baseball
Maintain positive working relationships with vendors and local government offices
Timely communication with president on all major issues
Team Operations
Assist coaching staff and players with all equipment needs and schedules
Ensure the team is compliant with league rules, guidelines and bylaws
Sales:
Maintain sales revenues with key sponsorship clients
Game Day/Customer Experience:
Lead the game day staff with ballpark operations to meet annual customer service and satisfaction goals and (clean, safe, fun and compliant)
Assist the Game Day/marketing teams in the execution of ballpark events and promotions
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Skills required:
- A general understanding of the rules and current events in the game of baseball.
- Creative, energetic and proactive approach to work.
- Ability to anticipate/adapt and make recommendations based upon the needs of the organization.
- Proficient knowledge of stadium operations and equipment.
- Highly organized, ability to multi-task.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Experience required:
- 2 years of stadium and grounds operations experience.
- Proven ability to stay organized, meet deadlines and manage people.
