Philabundance was founded in 1984 with the simple belief that no one should go hungry while healthy food goes to waste. Our mission is to drive hunger from our communities today as we work to end hunger for good. Today, Philabundance is the Delaware Valley’s largest hunger relief organization, covering a service area of nine counties in PA and NJ, moving over 50 million pounds a year. In addition to food distribution, we strive to reduce food waste, increase access to nutritious meals, and tackle the root causes of hunger through programs such as the Philabundance Community Kitchen and working with community organizations that provide critical life skills and services to engage in holistic strategies that provide food in addition to: Education, Financial literacy, Health services, Housing and more; with the goal of shortening the line at food distribution sites.
Position Summary:
This position will oversee the Community Partnerships team, providing leadership to all agency services, agency growth, agency equipping, and nutrition services initiatives. This position reports the Chief Community Partners Officer. This role is responsible for understanding the landscape of the agency network, how they relate to Philabundance, their capacity to serve more clients and opportunities and needs which would allow them to do more. This position oversees the Agency Services team tasked with providing excellent customer service, capacity support to grow agency operations, compliance with Feeding America and Philabundance standards, and ensuring equitable network coverage and access for the people Philabundance serves in the nine-county service area.
Primary Job Functions:
- Develop and strengthen the Community Partnership network: bringing on strategically advantageous new agency partners, as well as increasing the capacity of current agency partners
- Strategically set goals for the distribution of food throughout our nine-county service area
- Oversee ongoing community assessment and recommendations for types and quantities of food necessary to meet strategic mission goals
- Develop strategic relationships with other organizations providing similar or complementary services to the population Philabundance serves
- Oversee or collaborate on special events within the community, both internal and external
- Oversee monitoring function of existing programs receiving food to verify compliance with Philabundance standards
- Work with all Food Flow departments to continually update and refine inventory, transportation and distribution processes, find mutually beneficial solutions to problems and challenges
Position Responsibilities:
- Facilitate collaboration between internal teams to inform and drive a more systemic approach to aligning funding, resources and capacity to serve the community holistically and effectively.
- Collects, interprets, and reports accurate program data for grants, government contracts, and other external stakeholders as needed.
- Works closely with the senior management and staff to ensure that the fiscal requirements and outcomes for grants and contracts are identified, realized, and monitored.
- Lead team of managers and coordinators to execute goals and targets related to the Agency Services work
- Develop and manage annual operating plans, department goals and department budget
- Serve as Philabundance representative at local, county, and regional- level partnership meetings and coordinated events
- Collaborate with External Affairs and Communications teams to ensure all agency and community communications and forms utilize a consistent message and brand
- Serve as back-up for co-managers in Community Partnerships department as needed
- Performs supervisory functions including hiring, training, coaching, accountability and performance reviews
- Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences/services, public health, or related field preferred or equivalent amount of training and experience
- Minimum of Five (5) years in social service or related non-profit experience
- Minimum of Two (2) in a dedicated management/supervisory role management
- Ability to understand, draft, enforce, and/or interpret regulations in an accurate, consistent and equitable manner
- Ability to analyze information, develop creative solutions and/or alternatives and work with agencies to implement in a cooperative manner
- Adept at speaking to and training groups which may include a mix of participants who are culturally, ethnically, socioeconomically diverse and multi-lingual
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Database/CRM software
- Project management skills; display of strategic thinking and processing
- ServSafe Food Handling certification; training is provided
- Warehouse and logistic knowledge is beneficial
Physical Demands:
- Travel is required. Must be willing and able to travel within the service area (using public transportation, rideshare service, personal vehicle or other means). Valid driver license required for usage of company vehicles.
- Work in a seated position up to 8 hours a day, 5 days a week; may be required to work some weekends and evenings.
- Lift/lower, push/pull and carry objects/parcels no greater than 50 pounds; when lifting/lowering, pushing/pulling and carrying objects/parcels greater than 50 pounds use 2 people or mechanical means
- See, hear and speak with sufficient capability to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions and communication with the public
