Our Quantitative Sciences team uses big data to analyze the safety and efficacy claims of our potential medical breakthroughs. We review the quality and reliability of clinical studies using deep scientific knowledge, statistical analysis and high-quality data to support decision making in clinical trials.

The Global Payer Value and Access Insights and Strategy Lead will be responsible for developing and communicating data-driven and actionable insights to our Company’s pharma and hospital/specialty Market Access organization. The Global Payer Value and Access Insights and Strategy Lead is responsible for developing an integrated research plan that encompasses primary and secondary analysis to support key decisions across phase II/III and commercialization phases. This role will act as a “First” point of contact for the pharma and hospital/specialty market access leaders (payer marketing, pricing, GMAx). This person will deliver an end-to-end integrated insights, analytics, and data solutions for pharma and hospital/specialty market access leaders and will help scope, design, and deliver well-defined projects and insights, track value ‘at stake’ and value realized.

The preferred candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, consultative mindset, strong understanding of market access data, commercial analytics capabilities, and technology. This person should have the ability and demonstrated the ability to create structure and break down unstructured problem statements into solvable chunks, articulate what needs to be answered through primary research, secondary research as well as what can be achieved internally vs externally.

The person should be able to identify the data, analytics and research needs to define, enable, and inform market access strategies of our US and GMAX market access and pricing leaders. The candidate should partner with other Human Health Digital and Data Analytics (HHDDA) capability areas such as, Business Engagement Leads, data strategy, data science, data visualization to develop actionable insights that answer the ‘so what’ and ‘now what’ for leaders at our Company. The COE Lead will (1) drive alignment, knowledge-sharing, and project oversight of the pharma and hospital/specialty integrated research plan, (2) lead the annual budget consolidation for market research and analytics projects, (3) bring together the pharma and hospital/specialty Payer Research and Advanced Analytics teams to spearhead and transform the teams’ capabilities and contributions to the integrated pharma and hospital/specialty insights, analytics, and data solutions. The candidate will have demonstrated consistently strong leadership skills, an ability to work independently and/or lead a team and work extensively with a larger cross functional team. The person will be required to have a growth mindset and embody a culture of continuous learning. This role will require interfacing and collaborating with many teams. Strong communication skills are essential for a candidate to be successful in this role.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Market Access leaders across the US Market Access and Global Market Access (GMAX) organization to understand their strategic priorities across the commercial value chain from Business dev, Pipeline management to commercial development and launch and in-line management.

  • Partner with the pharma and hospital/specialty Business Engagement Leads to understand strategic priorities for the therapeutic area, and translate priorities into market access business needs and enable inter-connected problem solving.

  • Be a thought leader and strategic partner for our business partners. Establish and manage close relationships with partners and stakeholders in within HHDDA, marketing, sales, business operations, medical and finance.

  • The candidate should have the ability to lead agile working teams and PODs, comprised of cross-functional stakeholder groups to solve Market Access questions to define, inform and enable access strategy.

  • Understand business stakeholders' priorities and help develop data and analytical solutions that support business objectives in collaboration with the broader commercial insight teams

  • Understand the full book of work that is underway and planned in support of a pharma and hospital/specialty market access, business units. Work with cross functional teams to articulate the value or impact of each piece of work.

  • Work with pharma and hospital/specialty market access leadership to prioritize the work that needs to be done considering the capacity availability within HHDDA.

  • Travel may be required (<20%).

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in related discipline required

  • MBA or master’s degree in engineering, Public Health, Pharmacy, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • 8+ years of relevant delivery of complex market access projects in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry using market research and/or large patient or physician databases.

  • Experience could be from a similar role at a pharmaceuticals firm or at a management consulting firm. Strong understanding health care landscape and commercial analytics capabilities (market research, forecasting, data driven analytics, advanced analytics)

  • Directing diverse groups of work colleagues and positively manage ambiguity. Ability to lead cross functional pods.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, ability to work independently and collaborate seamlessly

  • Professional experience in market research, applied data science and analytics, familiarity with visualization, data story telling is required.

  • Ability to understand business process and break down business questions into specific, tangible hypotheses and requirements to guide analysis. Excellent problem-solving skills with an appreciation for data oriented analytical methods.

  • Ability to operate in an unstructured environment and have strong organizational skills to create structure and clarity. Excellent organizational skills, with ability to navigate a complex matrix environment and organize/prioritize work efficiently and effectively

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of Commercial analytics (market research, data analytics, business intelligence and/or forecasting).

  • Knowledge building/leading successful, high performing cross functional teams.
