About the Role:
The HR Business Partner drives our mission by providing consultation and support to business leaders to optimize human resources strategies. The HR Business Partner will help provide expertise in the areas of employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, compensation, employee retention, coaching/development, conflict management, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness and ad hoc projects as necessary. The HR Business Partner should have the adaptability and capability to understand the work of assigned clients and their changing needs. The HR Business Partner will be responsible for delivering key HR programs, practices, and policies to provide strategic consultation and coaching to the business, leadership, and employees. Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees
  • Acts as a strategic partner for delivering on the human resources strategies required by the business
  • Advises and counsels management on a broad range of HR topics focused on driving employee performance, strategy and workforce planning to strengthen overall business performance
  • Resolves client problems and concerns with agility and professionalism; addressing concerns responsively, using appropriate influencing and negotiating skills
  • Educates managers and employees on HR policies, plans, programs, processes and tools
  • Advises and guides all levels of management to develop positive employee engagement strategies and plans that are consistent with the company culture and values
  • Identify, define and implement solutions that address the changing needs of the business
  • Partners with leaders to build engaged, high-performing teams
  • Optimizes organizational performance by applying broad HR skills in the areas of organization design and development, change management, workforce planning, coaching, program/project management, facilitation and communication
  • Administers talent management and succession planning activity within client organization
  • Partners effectively with HR specialist groups including Talent Development, Talent Acquisition and HR Ops
  • Helps to identify learning and training gaps and may help to develop and/or deliver programs
  • Participates in the creation of long-term HR goals to ensure sustainable capabilities to deliver on strategy
  • Monitors market and industry trends and adapts workforce plans to address trends
  • Ensures that personnel comply with Federal, State and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
  • Maintains a deep understanding of the business including financial position, mid and long-range plans, key environmental factors and competitive indicators
  • Understands business objectives, products, and customers
  • Understands how a team / work area relates to other areas of the organization and uses that knowledge to improve efficiency and produce high-quality work with cross-functional impact
  • Identifies and resolves technical, operational and organizational problems relating to own discipline
  • Works cross-functionally as the representative for their area
  • Works collaboratively and builds positive/effective business partnerships
  • Demonstrates planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Demonstrates outstanding written and verbal communication; must be a clear, concise and persuasive communicator
  • Other duties as assigned or required
Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree and 15+ years of HR related experience, Life Sciences or similar industry experience preferred, demonstrated experience coaching employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues; organizational development, change management and communications or related experience required or Master’s degree in Business, HR, Behavioral Sciences or related field with 13+ years of related experience
  • Commercial experience is highly desired
  • Understands application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices and standards
  • Understands federal, state and local laws and statutes for employment
  • Proven experience in coaching employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues
  • Proven experience in organizational development, change management, coaching and communications
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively partner with all levels of the organization and positively influence teams
  • Demonstrates excellence in effective interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead others
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Travel approximately 25%
