Position Summary

The Director, Human Resources Generalist is responsible for implementing best practice HR processes, standards, and programs in all areas including talent acquisition, staff training and development, compensation and benefits, DEIB, employee relations, systems, compliance, people analytics, and culture. The Director, Human Resources Generalist is both strategic and hands on and provides full cycle HR support across the organization. This is a hybrid role so we are seeking a local candidate who can work on-site 3 days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Help drive company-wide human resources strategy, programs and processes.
  • Ensure all human resources policies and programs are applied fairly, consistently and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. Review human resources policies on a regular basis to ensure compliance with current employment laws.
  • Partner with VP of HR to recruit, source, interview and evaluate applicants in consideration for ANA employment opportunities; work collaboratively to establish process guidelines and direct hiring managers on proper talent acquisition procedures.
  • Mentor support HR staff and oversee daily work activities within related scope of responsibilities.
  • Implement personnel policies and procedures; work collaboratively with HR team to prepare and maintain employee handbook.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Identify and implement strategies to create active and passive candidate pipelines; optimize processes and procedures for attracting top talent.
  • Collaborate with VP, HR to identify and utilize recruiting sources that could provide qualified diverse applicants
  • Assist in the assessment, development, coordination and facilitation of staff training programs.
  • Collaborate with VP, HR to administer annual performance management program.
  • Administer ANA’s annual Performance Agreement process in line with the performance management program.
  • Work with managers and employees to identify and resolve employee relations issues; ensure that all employees are accountable for resolving conflict.
  • Perform HR data analysis and provide strategic insights on areas such as diversity, talent, recruitment, training, headcount, attrition, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain reports related to specific HR projects.
  • Maintain the accuracy, confidentiality and integrity of employee information and records; adhere to recordkeeping laws and best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the HR team to manage employee benefits, compensation administration and HRIS system.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to affect continuous improvements in efficiency of the HR department and services performed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 5-7 years’ experience in a Human Resources generalist role. SHRM or PHR certification a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, set realistic goals/milestones and meet deadlines.
  • Solid interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Strong adaptability mindset and comfortable navigating through change effectively.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal employment law.
  • Candidate must be familiar with social media outlets in the context of recruitment and employment branding.
  • Advanced MS Office skills. HRIS experience preferred.
