The Director of Organizational Learning and Inclusion at CareQuest Institute for Oral Health is responsible for organizational learning, development, and performance consulting; with intentional integration of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). This position will partner with internal Human Resources team members to lead and execute programs for talent, leadership, succession planning, and employee engagement. Assess individual and team behaviors to identify opportunities for development and create plans for improvement that guide current and long-term solutions to improve employee engagement, belonging, and retention will be a key focus. The Director will ensure that all learning strategies and plans are in full alignment with, and supportive of, overall HR strategy, DEIB goals, and success metrics.

A successful candidate will be an experienced and driven leader who will work collaboratively with the Chief Human Resources Officer to design and provide a comprehensive learning and development approach focused on attracting, developing, and retaining diverse talent. This individual must possess and demonstrate the ability to navigate and influence across complex working relationships, establish themselves as a trusted advisor, and balance innovative approaches with practical and viable deliverables. Initiative, critical thinking skills, reverence for others, customer-focused consultative style, servant leadership, and polished execution will position this professional as a valued and integral team player in transforming the organization. The Director will promote a culture of openness and inclusive participation of all team members of CareQuest Institute, and its affiliates.

Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead and execute an integrated diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) and organizational learning strategies to achieve the goals outlined in CareQuest Institute’s DEIB Strategic Roadmap.
  • Conduct systemic needs analysis to identify gaps in capabilities required to achieve CareQuest Institute’s strategic goals.
  • Propose, pilot, and implement learning and/or performance interventions that address gaps, and ensure sufficient capability to reach overarching goals and targets.
  • Design and facilitate training courses and programs necessary to meet learning and capacity-building needs across the enterprise and/or manage this activity via external providers.
  • Develop innovative, effective, and timely learning and development curriculums that include leadership development and individual contributor learning programs utilizing a variety of creative resources to promote, communicate, and drive cultural change consistent with our mission, values, and desired leadership acumen.
  • Lead and continually evolve internal DEIB capacity-building designed to strengthen organizational culture and team collaboration.
  • Serve as lead champion for DEIB practices across the organization, leveraging effective change management practices to generate commitment from key stakeholders.
  • Create and implement a comprehensive Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) communications strategy that includes internal and external messaging.
  • Lead ongoing efforts to operationalize DEIB values, building internal capacity and skills to continually increase inclusiveness and equity across virtual team environments.
  • Employ strong data analytics skills to assess a range of success metrics and present data in an effective manner for senior leaders.
  • Manage and execute ongoing initiatives, program content, logistics, and budget related to our DEIB Strategic Roadmap.
  • Design capability strategy, program structure, and content; administer training and performance improvement programs, coach trainers, or deliver training as appropriate; manage learning management system (LMS) administration of all organizational learning experiences.
  • Continue to utilize and develop robust training programs in CareQuest Institutes online learning and development platform.
  • Monitor and evaluate programs and ensure desired measurement of effectiveness and impact on identified needs.
  • Where applicable, develop performance interventions (Learning, Performance Support, Job Analysis/Work Design, Business Process Redesign, Personal Development, etc.), properly pilot them, implement, and scale them to sustained adoption across the organization.
  • Partner with internal team to lead performance management and recommend learning and development programs, including all aspects of program establishment, communications, implementation, tracking, and reporting.
  • Act as a change agent to build effective strategies that support programs, initiatives, projects, and services designed to improve organizational performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with learning methodologies and tools; personality, 360s, and other assessments; innovative performance management practices; and career development programs.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including training, organizational development, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, and performance management.
  • Skills in assessment, reporting, planning, implementation, and problem-solving.
  • Experience in vendor management, RFP’s, talent management systems (implementation and oversight).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience working with senior leaders, including creating and delivering executive level presentations.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related area of study is required; a master's degree or certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) is preferred.
  • Progressive leadership within a complex organization, creating and leading learning and development programs, including considerable experience in the design and implementation of strategic diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Professional certifications (ATD, ASTD, HCI) or HR Certification (PHR or SPHR) desired
  • Experience implementing, launching, and administering learning management systems (Skillsoft-Percipio).
  • Relevant experience managing cross-functional teams.
