THE ROLE: Director, Information Security
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage a Security Operation Center for the organization
- Review current policies and procedures and update based on industry standards
- Work with network and system administrators to ensure policies and procedures are being followed through regular audits
- Review network and application logs to identify risks and develop action plans to remediate
- Manage SOC 2 Type 2 preparation activities and audit process
- Lead the end-to-end process for HITRUST r2 certification
- Work with internal and external staff to perform internal network scans, external scans and other penetration testing activities
- Develop and monitor alerts through packaged software and custom developed applications
- Remediate all risks and alert executives of any known security threats
- Review system designs and recommend changes to ensure new and modified applications are compliant based on all relevant industry best practices
- Ensure all data and applications are HIPAA compliant
- Work with the AWS Solutions Architect to ensure all cloud network, infrastructure and applications are configured to meet defined objectives
- Update incident response procedures and educate internal resources of the notification process for security incidents and data breaches
- Travel around 20% may be required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or comparable experience in the field
- 5 – 10 years leading system security initiatives for both on-prem and cloud-based architectures
- Experience with monitoring, installing, configuring, and administering a broad range of technologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Security, Network and/or AWS certification is a plus
- Ability to work independently/proactively to resolve issues
- Excellent time management
- Ability to learn quickly and be able to communicate with a focus on customer service
- Strong critical and analytical problem-solving skills
- Comfortable multi-tasking
