Director, National Account Sales


ServiceMaster Clean is currently looking for a driven and accomplished Director of National Account Sales to provide high-level leadership to a broadly based sales function, targeting residential and commercial customers. In collaboration with brand leadership, the Director will plan and execute sales strategies to expand the brand’s customer base and drive revenue growth, focusing on key accounts. In addition, they will develop and execute aggressive sales programs, manage and motivate the existing sales team, and create a culture of sales for the brand. They will also create and implement processes, routines, and systems to build success, participate in overall strategic planning and initiatives, develop and manage high-profile relationships, and achieve revenue growth within the company.


What you'll do:


  • Lead the sales function, targeting residential and commercial customers.
  • Plan and drive the development and execution of strategic sales initiatives.
  • As a contributing leader, in addition to managing the team, you'll also deliver sales targets that surpass year-over-year growth targets and ensure the attainment of sales objectives and revenue by the organization.
  • Create and implement processes, routines, and systems required to sustain and build success.
  • Participate in and contribute to the overall strategic plans and initiatives for the business unit, including the development of new and existing business lines and programs.
  • Develop strategic value propositions that transform the customer experience.
  • Support and engage in complex sales negotiations and presentations.
  • Oversee the development and administration of policies and procedures.
  • Drive all aspects of sales – strategy, planning, budget, execution, retention, development, culture, and results.
  • Develop and implement a strong sales strategy and culture, along with building capability, at the national, local, and regional levels.
  • Leverage internal relationships.
  • Develop strategic value propositions to distinguish programs and components from competitors.
  • Lead strategic initiatives for pilot programs in coordination with the account management team.
  • Actively participate in professional industry associations and engage and/or sponsor affinity groups to represent the company and monitor the development and direction of key trends.
  • Serve as a resource for national partners.


Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • Ensure the staffing and development of a top-talent, customer-focused sales force and build a highly engaged and high-performing team.
  • Lead the sales organization to consistent growth while maintaining or improving profit margins.


What you bring:


  • National sales
    to janitorial or sanitization companies preferred; business-to-business sales required
  • P&L management experience with a multi-million-dollar operation
  • Experience as a people manager, leading and motivating sales teams; team building and accountability expertise
  • Ability to sell and negotiate at a C-level
  • Strategic business development skills and insight for growth
  • Exceptional planning and strategic thinking skills, along with business and financial acumen
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including delivery of formal presentations
  • Project management knowledge and skills
  • Analytical and talent development skills and experience


Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is required; a Master’s degree is strongly preferred
  • 10 years of sales experience, which includes leading and managing a sales function and organization required, preferably across several lines of business/multi-sales channels and the service industry


Working Conditions:


Ability to travel frequently (10% to 25%)
