Director of Alumni Engagement

An energetic leader and an essential member of the Office of Institutional Advancement, the Director of Alumni Engagement designs, plans, and implements a sophisticated, strategic alumni program aimed at engaging over 5000 Episcopal alumni in the life of the school and in networking with each other. Building meaningful connections with a wide range of alumni locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally, the Director's primary goal is maximizing alumni engagement leading to philanthropic participation. The Director of Alumni Engagement works in partnership with key leaders at the school to ensure the school's commitment to building an inclusive community is incorporated into all of our engagement initiatives.

About You

The ideal candidate for the Director of Alumni Engagement at The Episcopal Academy will possess the following:

• Demonstrated success in developing strategy and building engagement programs and activities
• Experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion work and demonstrated success in increasing engagement of alumni of color, LGBTQ+ alumni, and alumnae with the institution and each other
• Excellent communication skills - including interpersonal, verbal, and written - and experience creating content such as e-newsletters, social media, print publications, video, and other forms of communication to engage constituents beyond traditional events
• Ability to listen carefully and understand constituents' needs, both internally and externally, and proactively respond to those needs in a consistent and timely manner
• Experience identifying, managing, and motivating alumni to become highly-engaged volunteers
• Demonstrated curiosity, creativity, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, and a growth mindset
• The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, take initiative, and react and adapt to changing situations appropriately
• An understanding of institutional advancement work and how to cultivate a philanthropic culture among all alumni
• An aptitude for planning, executing, and managing an annual calendar of strategic alumni events, from small luncheons to large-scale Alumni Weekends
• Willingness to work traditional and non-traditional business hours, including nights, weekends, and travel, as needed
