Job Description
Job Summary: Provide a brief summary of the job and the scope of responsibilities (e.g. regional or global scope, etc.)
Under the general direction of the VP of Operations, lead and manage all operational departments related to the production of Cooled infrared devices in support of various markets (Military, Security, Maritime, Science Cameras, Industrial Cameras…). Designs manufacturing organization to support the business goals for revenue, growth, profitability and customer satisfaction. Guides and supports the organization through effective management systems designed to escalate and resolve problems immediately. Coaches and mentors team members and subordinate managers. Drives continuous improvement efforts of the manufacturing teams through the implementation of Lean Production Systems, with the goal of shorter production and repair cycle times and lower costs. Ensures a quality mindset and an emphasis on product reliability to maximize customer satisfaction.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities: List the fundamental duties of the position
- Provides high level daily oversight via subordinate managers of production teams organized by product family (includes management of Manpower, Materials, Machines, Methods and Measurements)
- Provides high level daily oversight via subordinate managers of Customer Service and Product Repair
- Establishes, monitors and reports on key performance indicators
- Attends high level meetings to set Operational Priorities and ensure assignment of resources
Job Qualifications: Include minimum education, work experience, knowledge & skills necessary to perform the functions of the job
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum 10 years of high-level management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles required
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015)
Other Qualification: Include any preferred education, work experience, knowledge and skills
- Knowledge of Infrared Technology
- Knowledge of analytical problem-solving techniques (Six Sigma and/or Kepner Tregoe)
- Understanding of Statistical Process Control
- Experience with Measurement Systems Analysis (Gage R/R)
- Ability to reduce data into meaningful presentations to Executive Management
- Ability to lead Value Stream and Spaghetti Map sessions with production teams

- Direct reports include:
- Manager of Cooled Vacuum Packaging
- Manager of Cryocooler Production
- Manager of Cooled Camera Production
Working Conditions: List any working condition requirements (
e.g. amount of travel, ability to lift, etc.)
- Office environment
- Manufacturing factory environment
- Generally less than 10% travel
