Summary :
The Wall Las Memorias Project constructed the first publicly funded AIDS Monuments in the nation. The organization provides health prevention services to the LGBT and Latino community. The health programs include Substance Use Disorder, HIV Prevention-testing, mental health prevention services, cancer research educational outreach, policy and advocacy on health and human rights issues.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Fundraising
- Conduct prospect research and create donor profiles on individual donors, corporate, and foundation funding sources.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key individuals and organizations in TWLM’s donor network.
- Organize and conduct corporate, foundation and individual donor trips to the field.
- Following up to convert pledges into donations.
- Government and foundation contract management
- Produce the organization’s fundraising events.
- Grant Management, in collaboration with consultant grant writer
- Research and prepare government and foundation grant requests.
- Maintain grants and contracts through the development and submission of timely progress reports.
Team Development
- Raise funds to support additional Development Department team members.
- Supervise any additional Development Team members to advance department and agency goals.
- Develop and manage (or support the management of) strategic partnerships.
- Develop and present regular reports to the Board of Directors on fundraising updates.
- Work with Executive Director and The Board of Directors to create and implement agency fundraising plans.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field, such as organizational development, nonprofit management, fundraising, etc.
- At least five (5) years of increasingly responsible non- profit development experience.
- Experience cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors to nonprofit causes.
- Experience developing, evaluating, or fundraising for community-based prevention and services programs ideally around community mobilizing, social justice, and mental health issues.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in standard computer applications : Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet, etc.
- Knowledge of LGBTQ issues and communities, human rights and social cause
- Knowledge of local, statewide, and national nonprofit fundraising trends, opportunities, and landscape.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and stakeholders
