Responsible management position providing supervision of staff and administrative support for Kinship and Caregiver Emotional Support programs in Greater Orlando. Participates in and
provides leadership in organization’s performance and quality improvement efforts and ensures contractual compliance, and marketing of Kinship and Caregiver Emotional Support.


DIRECTOR ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides leadership and management of the implementation and services of the Kinship and Caregiver Emotional Support Services Programs including oversight and quality improvement activities in Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties.
  • Mediate, problem-solve and devise plan of action to ensure the timely submission of Level 1 Licensing Referrals from Kinship to CHN Child Placing Agency Licensing Supervisor.
  • Approve, monitor and track the spending of Client Financial Assistance to ensure basic needs of the Kinship Families are met in a timely manner.
  • Complete and submit Monthly Client Financial Assistance Spreadsheet to Embrace Families Network Support Manager.
  • Collaborates and coordinates program activities with case management organizations to meet and monitor contractual agreements and coordinate staff training needs for the Kinship and CESS program.
  • Selects, supervises and trains Kinship and CESS department program and support staff.
  • Responsible for completing employee evaluations on those directly supervised and for ensuring that an effective employee development, discipline and recognition programs are implemented within framework of the Children’s Home Network’s Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Collects and reports on data as needed on a monthly and quarterly basis and submits data to funding sources as required.
  • Develops and maintains cooperative agreements with community agencies. Coordinates existing and added services and serves as a representative for various community committees.
  • Monitors outcome measures of program contracts and grants. Ensures outcomes are achieved.
  • Manages and monitors budgets, fiscal sustainability, Client Financial Assistance spending, and marketing of Kinship Program.
  • Ensure the entry of data, Chronological Notes and all other requirements by Kinship staff into FSFN within timelines identified in Attachment II of the Embrace Families Standard Contract.
  • Serve as the Point of Contact for all FSFN terminations including name, title, contact number and email. Submit all termination within 24 hours of staff separation to FSFN address identified in Attachment II of the Embrace Families Standard Contract.
  • Provides leadership and participates in the organization’s performance and quality improvement efforts.
  • Ensures staff fully utilizes agency MIS system, and is responsible for integrity of data.
  • Works within the philosophy and function of the Children’s Home Network.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

DIRECTOR QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience: Master’s degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university. Five years experience in foster care and
adoption or related field, two of which are in a supervisory capacity.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license with no record of criminal driving offense of license suspension.
  • Must possess means of providing job related transportation and show proof of required insurance. Must be insurable under CHN’[CB1] s current auto insurance policy.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background and state criminal background check and sexual predator screening.

Annual Training Requirements: The following training topics are required annually: Prevention of Sexual Harassment, Blood-borne Pathogens, Workplace Accident
Prevention and Reporting, Confidentiality and Privacy Practices, Diversity/Cultural Competency, Child Abuse and Neglect Mandated Reporter Statutes and Methods,
Prevention of Violence in the Workplace, OSHA–related training, Supervisory training, Crisis Prevention, and Program Goals, DHH training.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as evaluation data, program manuals, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to develop and proof training materials. Knowledge of quality improvement processes, tools, and principles. Knowledge of statistics, data collection and survey design helpful. Ability to add,
    subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret data. Computer literacy and proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheet development, database management and/or development helpful.
  • Knowledge of all program standards as related to DCF, COA, Medicaid, Funding Sources, Licensing requirements and best practice service and management standards.
  • Effective leadership skills. Ability to assign and/or supervise the work of others. Skill in interviewing. Coaching, mentoring and teaching skills.
