Lyman Products is seeking a talented and experienced executive to manage their sales and marketing team and to achieve the objectives outlined in their strategic plan. We need a self-motivated professional with proven managerial experience and an outstanding track record in sales and marketing. The position reports to the President and CEO.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and promote the company's legacy brands and assuring continued growth in the company’s new Mark 7 Division.
  • Ability to manage and motivate the sales and marketing organization demonstrating leadership
  • Analyze and prepare annual budget plans, manage expenditures, and ensuring that the sales team meets their quotas and goals. Includes managing manufacturers rep sales agencies.
  • Research and develop marketing opportunities and plans, understanding consumer requirements, identifying market trends, and suggesting system improvements to achieve the company's marketing goals.
  • Forecast product sales and update on a quarterly basis.
  • Research new product opportunities for incremental growth and work with engineering and manufacturing teams to assure their successful introduction.
  • Responsible for worldwide sales including North America and International. Maintain and cultivate relationships with Distributors, National Retailers and Export accounts. Visit key US accounts, gain an understanding of their needs, and negotiate annual agreements. Attend Sales meetings and Trade Shows.
  • Staying current in the industry by attending educational opportunities, conferences, and workshops, reading publications, and maintaining personal and professional networks.
  • Assessing costs, competition, and demand to assist in product pricing.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, or related field.
  • 10 years’ experience in marketing or sales in a comparable position in the outdoor industry. Strong knowledge of the shooting sports industry a plus.
  • Ability to interact and make presentations to the Board of Directors.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and creative thinking skills.
  • Understanding of marketing from a Social Media platform.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate a team
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and strong written communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working conditions

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position, Days and hours of work week are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Willing to work outside standard working hours as needed.
  • Some travel may be required.
