Avoca Search is proud to partner with St. Lawrence Health in their search for their next Director of Nursing, Obstetrics who has strategic, fiscal, operational and educational responsibility and accountability for the standards of care and service within the labor and delivery unit at St. Lawrence Health. This position is ideal for a nurse leader with expertise in labor and delivery and a commitment to making significant impact on rural community health.

The Director of Obstetrics provides guidance to achieve defined goals, objectives and outcomes in service, quality, finance, engagement and growth. The Director works collaboratively with the Department of Obstetrics and the Department of Pediatrics to continually evaluate and improve care of patients, as well as with other disciplines and groups to provide the highest quality of care.

Additional responsibilities include all aspects of clinical operations, clinician and patient/family education, customer service, patient safety, financial outcomes, quality outcome management and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Current NY licensure as RN, or temporary practice permit; BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing/BSN required.
• Three to five years of progressive, successful, leadership experience in an Obstetric/Mother-Baby/Neonatal setting.
• Strong knowledge and experience in Labor and Delivery setting where decision-making, ability to work under dynamic and changing conditions and delegation responsibilities are at the forefront.
• Strong skillset as required for Labor and Delivery.
• Demonstrated experience in Birthing Center and Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum operations.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
