The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Director of Operations to successfully run the operations of all Communal locations. You’ll collaborate with the Management team to define and execute the business strategy and financial targets. You’ll help create a values-driven team environment that brings the best in your team. Most importantly, you’ll ensure that our team goes above and beyond to make every customer feel welcome and included.

  • Full time, exempt position.
  • Days of week worked and hours will vary based on need.
  • Travel between locations required weekly

Skills

  • 3+ years experience in retail / restaurant management - multi location & operational experience required
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot effectively
  • Ability to coordinate teams and work on projects together
  • Excellent team and culture building skills
  • Excellent training skills
  • Ability to set own schedule and use hours effectively to cover job responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and communications skills
  • Experience with implementing right practices and systems across a business
  • Experience with implementing inventory and labor tracking across a business
  • Experience with managing financial goals and forecasting
  • Detail oriented, organised and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent professional judgement and adherence to company policies
  • Flexible and able to maintain and model calm demeanour and positive attitude under pressure and deadlines

Essential Functions

  • Manages safety and compliance policies are being followed at all locations
  • Works with staff to ensure policies in handbook are understood and followed
  • Ensures existing practices and systems are being followed efficiently. Creates and implements new systems as needed
  • Supervises location staffing and human resources tasks with managers and leads
  • Work with owner on budgeting and forecasting for individual locations and overall
  • Work with owner and managers on setting and hitting both growth targets
  • Long term planning and goal setting with both owner and managers
  • Work with owner and leadership in setting customer experience expectations
  • Oversee customer service standards are being met at each location
  • Provide support and care for direct reports and ensure they are doing the same with employees in their care
  • Oversee location cleanliness and adherence to health department standards
  • Oversee location ordering and waste management with managers and leads
  • Work with owner on management staffing and human resource tasks
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained and replaced as needed
  • Assist owner and management in implementing new systems / technologies as needed
