Purpose of Position:

The Director of Patient Services has overall responsibility for the planning, interpretation and delivery of patient care services within the framework of the Agency's Mission and Strategic Plan. Ensures that services are provided within Agency, governmental and accrediting body requirements. Administrative areas of responsibility include clinical policy formulation and implementation, staffing and resource allocation, establishing goals and systems to provide high quality, safe and effective care. Reports and interacts with the CEO on a regular basis on all issues relating to the Clinical Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate the clinical operations of the Agency, inclusive of all quality improvement activities, home care delivery and compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation.*
  • Develop and maintain Best Practice standards to insure safe, high quality, cost effective delivery of care to patients. Conduct performance evaluations as per Agency policy.
  • Promote continuing professional education of clinical staff and ensure staff maintain current knowledge and competence in managing patient care.
  • Interpret, implement and monitor Agency compliance with local, state and federal government standards and regulations and CHAP standards of excellence.
  • Formulate, interpret and transmit clinical policies and procedures to all levels of Agency personnel. Maintain up-to-date clinical policy and procedure manual.
  • Assume a leadership role in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of Agency services and resources to insure the proper delivery of patient care that meets community needs.
  • Overall responsibility for the quality improvement, ethics and professional advisory committees; and act as a liaison between these committees, administration and the clinical department staff.
  • Set guidelines for the use of supplies and equipment needed to provide care balancing patient outcomes and fiscal responsibility.
  • Promote research and related activities that facilitate improvement in outcomes of care that will benefit the Agency’s patient base.
  • Focus on Strategic Planning for the Agency in conjunction with the President/CEO and the Administrator - CHHA

Qualifications:

  • License and current registration to practice in the State of New York as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and preferred Masters Degree in Nursing, Health Care Administration or Public Health from an accredited college or university.
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience as a Supervising Public Health Nurse in a Certified Home Health Agency (CHHA) or Long Term Home Health Care Program (LTHHCP).
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated computer literacy and proficiency.
  • Ability to work effectively in high- activity situations and under pressure.
  • Ability to meet the necessary time and schedule requirements as related to the position.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement regulations as well as a thorough knowledge of third party reimbursement and entitlements for home care.
  • Able to work in close contact with leadership team, management staff, department staff, and community.
  • Innovative and motivated to continuously improve internal systems and processes.
  • Professional liability insurance in the amount specified by VNSW.
  • Automobile in good working order and automobile insurance in the amount specified by the Agency.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
