The Director of Residential Programs provides oversight of the Residential department, including supervision of the Senior Program Managers, implementation of program policies, coordinating quality assurance activities, and maintaining a strong, collaborative partnership with the Department of Developmental Services. Working under the direction of the VP of Community Living, the incumbent ensures the overall quality of services, consistency, and standardization of all programs are maintained for all residential program sites, with priority for the overall health and wellbeing of the individuals served.


Essential Functions:

  • Train, supervise, mentor and support Senior Program Managers for both ABI & I/DD residential programs Supervise and evaluate the performance of the Senior Program Managers. Facilitate and coordinate ongoing development trainings for the Residential leadership team.
  • Maintain professional and effective relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. Enhance communication and documentation between the agency and other providers directly serving our population, including hospitals, schools, and healthcare organizations in effort to develop systems that increase effectiveness of relationships Represent the agency in the community and at meetings as requested.
  • Implement and enforce program goals; Continual review of programmatic initiatives for the residential programs. Regular review of progress toward stated goals, and planned activities to reach goals, and data elements to evaluate progress.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality of care within the residential program through coordination and monitoring of QA audit reports, compliance with policies and procedures and other efficiency measures to ensure all programs meet funding, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Fiscal Responsibilities-Program budget management Assist the Senior Program Managers in the oversight of spending at each residential home and for the program in its entirety. Monitor program spending, including authorization on behalf of the VP of Community Living as an approved signer for any expenses under $5,000 that occur within the Residential department.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of service delivery in the Residential Services.
  • Oversee planning of special projects, including but not limited to staff training, assessing individual satisfaction, and establishing program workplans, in collaboration with appropriate personnel.
  • Attend meetings with DDS and other(s) partner agencies and community organizations, as needed
  • Screen candidates for Senior Program Manager vacancies. Make final hiring decisions in collaboration with supervisor, as appropriate.
  • Facilitate monthly Residential Leadership meetings, Senior Program Manager meetings, Safety Committee meetings, and ensure Program Manager meetings occur regularly
  • Ensure ongoing training and support for the Program Managers at each residential home.
  • Participate in regular meetings with programs, departments, and administrative staff as needed.
  • Work in partnership with the Nursing, Clinical, ITS and Facilities departments to discuss program and individual related issues; meet with other consultants on an as needed basis.
  • Work closely with VP of Community Living on new initiatives and to identify new revenue sources. Participate in grant writing as needed.
  • Participate and oversee new client referrals, placements and transfers. Liaise with the family and caregivers as necessary.
  • Conduct investigations of reportable incidents and complaints related to programs under his/her supervision as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field required.
  • Five years of experience in Human Services, with at least two in a management role within the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. Demonstrated skills in leading and strong supervision skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, strong critical thinking and decision-making ability and thrives in a fast speed environment when necessary.
  • Valid Driver’s License required, with a minimum of 1 year driving experience.
  • Regular and predictable attendance required.
