Director of Sales:

Cherry Valley Hotel is looking for a Director of Sales to join our dynamic and accomplished Executive Team. The Director of Sales will help craft the vision to create a unique and welcoming experience for our guests that combines the beauty of nature with the convenience of modern amenities. They will be part of a team that generates an active and energizing atmosphere with our botanical gardens, year-round events, distinctive and locally focused culinary experiences, 60,000 sq ft of meeting and event space, 200 hotel rooms, and a spa. To make sure the guests’ experience with us is refreshing and inspiring, this leader will be part of a team that prides itself on being creative, collaborative, and forward-thinking.

This role will be critical as the team repositions Cherry Valley Hotel as the premier destination in the Midwest for group meetings, events, leisure, and business travelers. In addition, the leader will be responsible for energizing a sales team that will focus on groups looking for accommodations and meeting space for 600+ guests.

Cherry Valley Hotel is in the heart of the fastest-growing technology sector in the country, with the new Intel campus located 17 miles from the hotel. This leader will be essential in creating strategic community relationships, assuring we become the perfect choice for new businesses moving into the area.

Overall, this leader along with their sales team will develop and execute a sales strategy that results in the attainment of our annual sales goals.

Responsibilities:

· Direct the development and execution of sales strategies that result in the attainment of annual sales goals

· Responsible for total hotel revenue

· Proactively pursue a market segment that contributes to the success of the overall revenue of the hotel.

· Manage and inspire a team of sales associates

· Identify new opportunities for business in the market

· Develop and maintain relationships with key customers

· Become a representative of the property as they attend a variety of business events.

· Negotiate pricing and terms with customers for your accounts and mentor the sales associates

· Close deals and achieve quarterly and annual sales targets

· Be a part of an Executive Team responsible for driving the direction of the property and making sure the overall vision is met.

· Engaged participation and contribution with the executive team

· Other efforts to optimize revenue and profitability

Qualifications:

· Proven experience as a Director of Sales or in a similar role

· Strong track record in sales with budget and RevPar achievements

· Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies

· Excellent people management skills

· Strong networking skills

· Excellent negotiation, networking, and communication skills

· Energizing, creative, forward thinking, collaborative.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred; and 5 years related experience in a Senior Sales in a hotel or hospitality related field.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of the hospitality industry, have a strong sales and marketing background, sound administrative skills, and well-developed management skills.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess advanced computational ability.
  • Must possess advanced Excel skills.
  • Must possess advanced computer skills.
  • Ability to supervise situations and accomplish goals on a timely basis.
  • Thorough knowledge of Delphi or similar systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
