Sheraton Philadelphia University City is owned by the University of Pennsylvania and managed by Davidson Hospitality Group. The hotel will undergo a $55 million dollar renovation in the upcoming months. You will work with the BEST and be a part of the hotel's Steering Committee. Awarded with the Hotel of the Year, you will lead a team, that consistently exceeds their goals! This position offers a generous salary including quarterly bonuses.

WHAT YOU WILL DO EVERY DAY:
The Director of of Sales & Marketing is primarily responsible for leading and driving top line revenue strategy for traditional sales related segments to include, group. volume transient and catering. The individual is additionally responsible for staying ahead of market trends, market share movement and ongoing competitive hotel analysis, while directing the property sales team (rooms & catering) to insure budgeted revenues are met or exceeded. The Director of Sales & Marketing is also responsible for developing and implementing a marketing communications plan designed to achieve the desired positioning for the hotel, as well as managing the sales and marketing budget that supports revenue attainment.
  • Provide direct oversight to the entire hotel sales operation
  • Create and execute annual sales and marketing plans according to budget
  • Build relationships with external department leadership and team members
  • Establish room rates, advertising and marketing strategies for new and existing group sales
  • Supervise, coach and develop team members for departmental success and continued career growth opportunities
  • Problem solve and create process improvements as needed
WHAT WILL ENHANCE YOUR SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE:
  • 5+ years progressive hotel sales experience
  • Minimum 2 years hotel sales leadership experience or equivalent
  • Ability to execute a Sales and Marketing Plan to enhance revenue
  • Established relationships within the agency community
  • Strong understanding of negotiation and interpretation of contracts
  • Demonstrated leadership, time management and execution skills
  • Business communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other necessary media sites
  • Experience with major Hospitality Sales CRM systems
