Director of Student Activities and New Student Orientation
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Student Activities is a full-time professional staff member with leadership and management responsibilities that cover a wide spectrum of student-based programs and services at the College. S/he has a significant responsibility in shaping the quality and tenor of student life at the College through planning, facilitation, implementation, and evaluation of a diverse, comprehensive student activities program for the campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Plan, advertise and manage campus wide programs for the enrichment and entertainment of the campus community.
- Plan, organize and implement the New Student and Parent Orientation Programs.
- Hire, train and supervise the Orientation student staff
- Supervise and advise the Social Committee (SOCO) of Student Senate
- Manage the activities of the registered student organizations and coordinate event information within the master calendar.
- Prepare and manage departmental operations budget.
- Hire, train, and supervise the Student Activities student staff members.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare annual reports and conduct departmental assessment.
- Serve as a member of the Student Affairs team in campus wide collaboration.
- Serve on designated committees.
- Attend and participate in College sponsored events.
- Other duties as they relate to the position.
REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:
Education: Master's Degree Required
Experience: 2-4 years experience in student activity-related programming (orientation, student organizations, student programming).
Skills: Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
