The Office of Academic Achievement and Student Success has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Director of University Advising position.
The Director of University Advising provides a centralized resource within the academic advising community. This role develops and implements strategic, data-informed student success initiatives related to advising, maintains a comprehensive understanding of advising operations across campus and provides leadership in the ongoing review of advising related policies. The Director of University Advising will help to develop and implement university-wide efforts aimed at increasing student success and graduation and will use data to evaluate the efficacy of interventions and advising practices. Strong skills in the use of advising technologies and data-analysis for program evaluation are essential. This position is the Chair of the Advising Leads committee and collaborates with the Advising Directors in the schools and colleges as well as the directors for Student Success Initiatives and Transfer Initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution. Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience.
- Seven (7) years’ progressive, responsible experience related to student advising, coaching or support.
- Experience analyzing and reporting on data.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Condition of Employment: This position will require a significant in-person presence on the CU Denver campus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A master’s OR terminal degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Experience with program or project evaluation.
- Experience with strategic planning.
- 10 years of experience in Academic Advising in higher education.
