JOB SUMMARY:

Oversee and manage the supply of the division's stocked and non-stocked items. Work with Inventory Management, Warehouses, Transportation, Imports, Master Data, Quality, IS, Sales, and Finance to provide the sales force with inventory. Evaluates the organization's supply chain performance against projected costs and timelines.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure the flow of product needed to sell and service customers. Interact with Inventory Management, Warehouses, Transportation, Imports, Master Data, Quality, IS, and sales team to ensure supply activities are integrated with other parts of the business. Respond to escalated issues as necessary.
• Oversee formulation of operating guidelines and procedures. Prioritize and determine how to get product produced, shipped and delivered in the time frame required.
• Direct and provide oversight to the production planners. Work in conjunction with the personnel in Inventory management who are involved with the division's purchased items.
• Optimize sales at the lowest cost within the company's constraints. Establish strong relationships to enable this outcome.
• Develop forecasts, production capacities and allocations among suppliers and factories.
• Evaluate, update and implement systems and methods used to meet the service goals within the established inventory levels.
• Management responsibilities include:

• -Strategic, tactical and operational planning (12 + months) for the function or department;

• -Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions or major projects/programs;

• -Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops;

• -Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies;

• -Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree.

Relevant Work Experience

• At least 7 years manufacturing, distribution or purchasing experience.

Additional

• Experience applying knowledge of MRP, buying, demand management and forecasting.
• Experience and skills influencing, leading and directing individuals in multiple functional areas.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and facilitating teams to identify and implement solutions to complex problems.
• Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
• Experience calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, volume.
• At least 3 years of experience directly managing people including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• APICS certification.
• Advanced Excel skills.
