The Director of Technical Operations will lead, mentor, and coach our diverse technical operations team to ensure our technical operations are best in class. In a SaaS organization, you will be responsible for the availability, reliability, performance, capacity, scalability, maintainability, and survivability of the applications, services, and hosting infrastructure at defi SOLUTIONS

Essential functions:

• Monitor all applications, services, and the hosting infrastructure effectively, efficiently, within budget and project timelines
• Own processes to continuously improve defi’s stance regarding automation and tools that are scalable and reliable
• Experience managing both onshore and offshore teams
• Champion and implement engineering best practices
• Create technical alignment to deliver strategic business initiatives
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the technical operations teams and ensure project plans and delivery commitments are met based on the strategy of defi
• Coach and mentor high-performing engineers to help them grow their skills, enhance their knowledge of our systems and their ability to get things done, while enabling them to be future leaders who are focused on building a high growth and inclusive culture
• Own team’s operational excellence, including creation of and monitoring of metrics and alarms in a continuous process improvement environment
• Strong technical leader that has driven large scale complex projects across multiple teams with a strong emphasis on creating enterprise grade platform capabilities
• Influential leader who will rally multiple teams around the vision, and creates an atmosphere where teams are empowered to deliver

Required education and experience:

• 10+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams
• Experience partnering with product and program management teams
• 5+ years of people management experience, managing multiple layers of engineers
• 3+ years of experience in DevOps or related field monitoring reliability and scaling of new and current systems using automation best practices
• 2+ years of experience managing activities across multiple geographically distributed teams
• 3+ years of experience in Azure technologies at scale in a stable production environment

Preferred education and experience:

• Proven success building, motivating and retaining high-performance engineering teams
• History of delivering customer-driven software products at a high scale in a fast paced, technology first, rapid-growth company
• Ability to lead positive change, empower people, cultivate product technology visions and innovative solutions
• Experienced decision maker and driver with the ability to articulate product vision and roadmap
• Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across teams & multiple division stakeholders across all levels of an organization
