Job Description
Working under direction and leadership of the Discipleship Pastor, the Discipleship Coordinator will be the driving administrative force behind discipleship and outreach at Mariners Church Huntington Beach. The ideal candidate will have the ability to create and manage systems that support groups, courses, and events while demonstrating excellent relational and interpersonal skills with staff, volunteers, congregants, and external partners.
As the Discipleship Coordinator the scope of your role will include:

  • Database Management: Work to regularly maintain and report on Rooted, Life Groups, affinity groups and volunteers within the database.
  • Administrative Tasks: Ability to complete a wide range of tasks including email correspondence, spreadsheets, phone inquiries, digital file management, and more.
  • Logistics Management: Manage on-campus room reservations and details for all Mariners HB groups, courses, and events.
  • Event Management: Play a key role in ensuring that all event logistics and operations are well organized and executed.
  • Outreach: Execute outreach events and coordinate outside partnerships in alignment with Mariners Church outreach strategy.
  • Stewardship: Execute budget, events, calendar, database, programs, and other outreach opportunities.

  • Dynamic and vibrant relationship with Jesus
  • Possess good organizational skills and efficient work characteristics
  • Have a proven ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong computer skills within the Google suite
  • Holds a high value on planning ahead and being responsive
  • Experience and eagerness to learn a variety of systems (graphics, website, database, project management
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Able to work some weekends and evenings.
  • Spanish literacy is a plus.
