As Lands’ End continues to expand and diversify its global supply chain and the network it uses to receive, store, and fulfill inventory through, Lands’ End is seeking an individual to focus and specialize on optimizing the flow of inventory and orders to/from the available nodes in the network. These network nodes include multiple distribution centers, an expanding footprint of 3rd party logistics (3PL) partners, and physical store locations throughout the United States.

This role supports the end-to-end process of optimizing the flow of inventory into the various network nodes and the corresponding fulfillment of direct-to-consumer orders against that inventory. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Understanding optimizing which orders should be fulfilled from each network node,
  • Configuring Lands’ End’s enterprise order management platform to align with this strategic fulfillment logic,
  • Maintaining data across Lands’ End systems,
  • Ensuring internal and external partners have the data needed to support their systems,
  • Investigating, understanding, and resolving issues across the Supply Chain both within Lands’ End, our suppliers, and our 3PL partners,
  • Auditing operational steps within the Supply Chain process, and reporting on status and results to cross-functional partners and leadership.

Must be nimble and able to resolve complex problems, or problems where precedent may not exist, to support both internal and external partners as needed. Work with a variety of internal and external resources to execute processes and solutions that meet Lands’ End’s, our Suppliers, and the 3PL’s requirements and needs. Model use of methodologies to provide quick turnaround on customer needs, resolve complex business problems, actively look for opportunities to improve day-to-day operational processes, and work as part of a team to report on activities that impact the health of the business. Requires a strong understanding of technology and systems and the ability to use industry leading platforms like IBM and Manhattan to configure, model and enable optimized fulfillment routes. Ability to run small projects independently – meet deliverables within a standard project plan, while adjusting to account for changes in direction & resolving conflicting stakeholder needs.

Responsibilities

  • Model and configure complex supply chain and order fulfillment logic within the enterprise order management platform (IBM) to optimize the fulfillment of orders to Lands’ End customers.
  • Make recommendations for Order Distribution by Fulfillment Center. Manage for orderly, efficient flow of orders to achieve customer satisfaction while minimizing order carryover.
  • Manage relationship and communication between cross-functional partners and customers
  • Strong understanding of supply chain and direct customer fulfillment, with previous experience at omni-channel retailers preferred.
  • Research, source, recommend and manage additional 3PL providers to allow for business growth. This includes being lead in identifying potential 3PL providers, contract/vendor requirements and vendor relationship/performance metrics.
  • Work with internal and external partners to execute upon the strategic vision for business growth.
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for operational requests such as order fulfillment issues, inventory/available to sell data issues, order reconciliation issues, etc.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings with a focus on process improvement, issue resolution, and relationship building. May also lead smaller cross-functional meetings to achieve business needs.
  • Actively identify areas for improvement and propose solutions for those issues for both internal and partner facing processes/procedures.
  • Act as a resource to colleagues who have less experience with Lands' End processes, internal and external partner support and/or continuous process improvement.
  • Create operational reports and utilize extensive analytical capabilities. Experience with IBM Order Management, Manhattan Warehouse Management, Oracle Merchandising systems a plus.
  • Run and troubleshoot reports in Microsoft Excel and Access - reports may be related to order status, financial settlement, product inventory, etc.
  • Participate in the execution and strategy for advanced skills training and onboarding of other Supply Chain Specialists.
  • May work on special projects/other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Exhibit strong data analytics capabilities, ability to extract data through various systems and methods, and understand and translate the data into reports or explanations that serve the needs of diverse groups with varying levels of inquiry.
  • High-level expertise in Microsoft Excel, as well as extensive knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to identify & implement innovative operational processes while owning all points of implementation and education. Can think about the whole process and lead small team on continuous improvement.
  • Experience in effectively collaborating and communicating with customers and colleagues in a friendly, easy-to-understand and efficient manner, consistent with Lands' End philosophies.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, verbal, listening and negotiation skills as well as the ability to think creatively.
  • Ability to drive results and manage conflict.
  • Ability to delegate, hold self and others accountable, and prioritize tasks for optimum efficiency.
