We are seeking a Distribution Manager to be based in our Pembroke, NC facility.

The Distribution Manager at Pembroke is responsible to manage the incoming/outgoing inventory and coordinate shipping and receiving processes. Working with contracted carriers or company-owned trucks, this position ensures ingredients and packaging materials move efficiently and effectively from receiving to the production floor, and finished products move from the production floor to the freezer, then onto a truck for delivery to the customer or to off-site storage.

This position is also responsible for understanding related Quality Management Systems including SQF, HACCP, and GMP to ensure safety and quality of employees and products.

The job duties include responsibility for assuring food safety and for food quality for SRO products.

A supervisor or other person of authority should be notified if any issues or threats to food safety or food quality are observed.

Applicants can expect to make between $50,000 to $60,000 a year upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.


Your Day to Day
  • Effectively manages and provides direction for up to 2-4 warehouse employees who are responsible for receiving, organizing, shipping and packing products.
  • Trains and coaches employees to meet high quality standards.
  • Keeps raw and finished goods inventory balanced in all locations.
  • Maintains accurate inventory counts and manages inventory turns.
  • Effectively communicates with key departments, specifically Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Chain.
  • Manages inventory and relationships with outside storage locations.
  • Writes, follows and enforces Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) including allergens, temperature sensitive ingredients, and follows company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Follows up and control daily absences and minimizes overtime.
  • Keeps warehouse and freezer clean and organized at all times and instills in the employees ownership in good housekeeping and organization.
  • Oversees unloading of raw materials and loading of finished product onto truck.
  • Receives inbound raw materials and stores/rotate according to First in First out (FIFO) rules.
  • Manages temperature sensitive ingredients and finished goods.
  • Responsible for quality control in the warehouse, freezers and on the docks. Ensures no damaged products are shipped out nor are any damaged raw materials received.
  • Operates forklift and electric pallet jacks as needed.
  • Completes daily logs and ensures all paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
  • Oversees and manages warehouse equipment, maintenance and leases.
  • Packages finished sample products for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
  • Understands the management of Quality Systems and is familiar with SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices which help ensure the safety within the workplace and the production of a safe and quality product(s).
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Team
  • Minimum five years of warehouse experience working with an inventory management program and two to five years management experience.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory systems and paper inventory control systems.
  • Must have a flexible schedule, working occasional nights and weekends during end of period closes.
  • Must be able to drive a forklift and pallet jack, trainer certification preferred.
  • Must understand allergens, food storage and rotation, FDA standards and be familiar with SQF, AIB or BRC requirements for food warehousing.
  • Must be able to read and write English and have excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
