Position Summary
There are 2 openings for this position.

The Donor Experience Officer (DXO) is a key member of the dynamic and mission-driven UNCG Advancement Team. In addition to joining UNCG’s talented team of development professionals, the candidate will have the opportunity to take part in a cutting edge advancement program that will change the face of annual giving.

The Donor Experience Program at UNCG is focused on marrying UNCG’s development communications efforts with fundraising workflows in order to engage and grow the next generation of supporters of the university. The Donor Experience Officer will focus on providing a first-class philanthropic experience for all donors by leveraging personalized digital engagement to effectively build relationships based on what truly matters to each individual supporter.

The Donor Experience Officer will manage a portfolio of donors with clear weekly, monthly, and annual goals. The candidate will collaborate with other departments both internally at the university (including Marketing and Communications, Alumni Relations, and Development) and externally, to effectively execute 1:1 outreach campaigns using technology resources including EverTrue’s cloud platform, social media, and virtual communications software.

Comfort with making personalized solicitations, daily use of video, phone, and email, and use of multiple databases and virtual communication technology is critical to success in this role.

This role is critical to helping UNCG achieve both its near-term annual giving goals and long-term fundraising objectives and develop qualified major gift referrals. Candidates should be self motivated and positive professionals, with a team-first optimistic attitude, eager to embody the UNCG spirit and engage alumni and friends at a high velocity in a personalized manner. The Donor Experience Officer will work under the supervision of the AVC of Development and will work under the guidance of the EverTrue Advancement Programs Manager.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of two years of experience in fundraising (preferably higher education)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate to diverse constituencies
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Willingness to travel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to utilize technical resources available to development staff

Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates

  • Desire to pursue a career in higher education advancement
  • High degree of grit, resilience, and a desire to challenge the status quo
  • Relentless “can-do” attitude when presented with a challenging workload
  • Experience in higher education fundraising as a student or professional (preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills across mediums, especially email, video, and video conferencing
  • Ability to manage your work between multiple cloud-based platforms and databases in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaboration and organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Strong work ethic with a desire to become a leader in the development space
  • Ability to handle confidential material responsibly and interact professionally with a wide spectrum of individuals
