Job description

The Drug Free Commumities Program Coordinator assists the Program Director of the Choctaw County Drug Free Community Program in coordinating events, activities and community/county partnerships; initiating correspondence and reports; and is responsible for media relations.

Duties and responsibiliites include but are not limited to the following; Assist the Program Director in the successful implementation of the DFC grant. Coordinate community interaction projects and programs. Responsible for media relations, monthly newspaper submission, representing the program at meetings, workshops and community activities. Give presentations designed to appeal to middle school and high school youth.

Plan and organize appropriate youth and community events. Establish new youth services. Recruit, train and supervisor youth volunteers. Work closely with schools, local authorities, health professionals and parents. Perform duties as assigned.
