DSHS DDA Community Protection Case Resource Manager

This role is integral to the functioning of the Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA). The part you’ll play is one of an advocate, caseworker, and all-around resilient problem solver for those you serve. As a valued member of our Tacoma office, you will join a team of dedicated Case Resource Managers that focus on person-centered planning for the service delivery of people with developmental disabilities.

Some of what you'll do:


  • Identify support needs of customers of the Developmental Disabilities Administration
  • Schedule and conduct face-to-face home visits with customers, families, and providers
  • Complete and revise customer assessments and service plans in CARE
  • Utilize database software programs to manage client data
  • Review and monitor customer plans, reports, and progress
  • Assess need for potential referral to Community Protection Supported Living Program based on eligibility and determined risk to others
  • Organizes, facilitates, and collaborates for community protection services
  • Serves on and coordinates quarterly multidisciplinary treatment team meetings with residential and vocational vendors, Certified Sex Offender therapist, client, and other pertinent entities
  • Develop, monitor, and submit any reduction of supervision and graduation plans for Community Protection, (CP) participants when appropriate to CP Committee for review
  • Partners with residential, vocational, law enforcement, Department of Corrections (DOC) - Community Corrections Officers, legal supports, and therapists to support clients in the Community Protection Program
  • Based on assessed needs, refer individuals to appropriate DDA services, other department services, and community programs/resources
  • Work with families and community members to advocate on behalf of customers
  • Work with individuals, families, and providers to prevent disruption in services
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple requirements

What we're looking for:

  • Experience managing a caseload of clients with developmental disabilities
  • Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Experience utilizing and coordinating multiple social service programs and resources to meet client needs
  • Proven ability in maintaining database software programs such as Microsoft Access to manage, track, update, query, or run reports, etc., on client data
  • Hands-on experience with payment systems (Barcode, CARE, ACES, Provider One, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Access, and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Developmental Disabilities Administration RCWs, WACs, policies, and procedures
  • Understand and interpret the DSHS/DDA mission, Guiding Values, program policies and procedures, WAC and other regulations to staff, clients, families, service providers and other interested groups; Compose professional and grammatically correct correspondence

Who should apply?
Professionals with a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Social Services, Human Services, Behavioral Sciences or an allied field, and two years of experience providing social services to people with developmental disabilities. Graduate training will substitute, year for year for the experience.
Or
One year experience as a Developmental Disabilities Case/Resource Manager Trainee within Washington State the Developmental Disabilities Administration.
