Location: REMOTE but located in : Langley AFB, Lackland AFB, Hurlburt Field, or Rome, NY

The proposed salary range for this position is $110,000-$160,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Follow AWS’s Well Architected Framework
    • Perform day to day operations and maintenance of cloud-based applications and systems
    • Support in areas of identity and access management, cloud infrastructure, patching, updating, and backup and recovery processes
    • Work closely with Cloud Engineering team (AFRL), vendors, and other support staff to identify, resolve, and document incidents
    • Be able to diagnose, mitigate and/or escalate system issues to maintain a high level of system/platform availability.
    • Manage and operate AWS GovCloud/SC2S/C2S components, accounts, services, and tools to diagnose issues.
    • Assist with maintaining a system of records; Assist with documenting procedures, configuration baselines, inventory, and root cause analysis.
    • Prepare and deliver assessment reports on system performance, deficiencies, and improvement recommendations.
    • Support automation in the cloud environment

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

    • Clearance: Top Secret security clearance
    • Years of Experience: 10+ years of experience in DoD
    • Education: Master’s degree should be in IS Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Master’s Degree is negotiable with Bachelor’s Degree in in IS Technology, Computer Science, or related field with additional 5 years of equivalent experience.
    • DOD Directive 8570 IAT I or II certification (Security+ or equivalent).
    • 2+ years of operations experience providing application infrastructure support
    • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, organizational, and multi-tasking skills
    • Experience working in a DevOps environment using collaboration software. Prefer Atlassian experience in Confluence and JIRA
    • Experience administering web-based applications is required
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Candidate is expected to have demonstrated experience in the following areas:
    • Competent in AWS EC2, AWS VPC, AWS CloudWatch, AWS S3, AWS IAM, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CLI
    • 2+ years of experience implementing and supporting AWS or equivalent cloud enterprise solutions.
    • 2+ years of experience implementing and supporting kubernetes (preferably RKE) deployments including writing manifests and securing clusters.
    • Ticketing systems, tiered support workflows and processes
    • Operating in agile environments
    • One or more scripting languages (Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.)
    • Developing plans, policies, and procedures to control and monitor application status for the cloud environment.

KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA)

    • Comprehensive knowledge of software engineering principles, methods, and techniques
    • Understanding of operational best practices, configuration management, and security controls.
    • One or more AWS or Azure certifications.
    • Experience with log collection and monitoring solutions.
    • Experience with DNS, Active Directory, Puppet, networking, and protocols
    • Experience working with AWS, Linux, and relational databases
    • Experience with AWS SDKs and more advanced AWS services such as Lambda and ECS/EKS
