Early Childhood Cook/Bus Driver ($1,000 sign on bonus)

The Learning Grove Academy is a licensed child care center seeking a Cook/Bus Driver!
Compensation: $13-$15
The primary role of the Cook/Bus Driver is the care and safety of the school age children who ride the bus and carry out all duties of the cook. The duties of the Cook/Bus Driver, which may include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Transporting children on a daily basis while following state regulations and health regulations pertaining to duties.
- Responsible for an identifiable group of children on bus.
- Responsible for the submission of paperwork to Director as required.
- Responsible for accurate and timely record keeping.
- Driver must maintain the vehicle according to state regulations and is responsible for transporting children to and from school.
- They are responsible for scheduling all transportation times.
- Maintain a clean, safe bus
- Keep gas tank filled above a ¼ tank. Colder months above ½ tank.
- Responsible for preparing nutritious well-balanced meals, that meets food program requirements for items served.
- Responsible for helping with ideas for the menus and making sure they meet appropriate food guidelines.
- Responsible for the control of food service within budget (food orders, food inventory, and excess waste).
- Responsible for the maintenance of a clean, orderly and sanitary kitchen.
- Responsible for seeing that meals are served on time and helping make sure that the children with food allergies are not exposed.
- Responsible for seeing that all children and staff are served appropriate serving sizes for each food item served.
- Responsible for dispersing groceries, food service, and paper supply order to appropriate areas of the building.
- Responsible for monthly inventory on non-food items, such as cups, plates etc. as well as all food items needed for the food service order.
- Planning and preparing meals ahead of time, cooking any items that can be prepared a day in advance of them being needed.
- Cooking enough food that all children, teachers, and administrators have the opportunity to eat their full serving of each item prepared leaving little waste.
- Preparing a cleaning schedule to help maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for food preparation, to include the refrigerator, cabinets and drawers, oven, stove, microwave, sink etc.
- Keeps up with the number of food service containers, cups, plates, etc., that are sent out to rooms, being sure to help cut down on any items being thrown away and helping cut back cost of replacement for carelessness.
- Requests items within budget for additional equipment needed to help maintain the kitchen and meal times on track and turns in request to the Program Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Minimum of high school diploma
- A clean driving record
- A valid driver license
- Previous professional cooking experience (dietary aide experience preferred)
- A high school diploma
- Childcare experienced preferred
- Effective time management and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent organizational skill
