We are currently hiring for Lead Teachers for our Toddler classroom at our Early Learning Center located in Prattsburgh, NY.
PAY: $16 per hour
JOB STATUS: Part time, non-exempt
JOB CONSISTS OF:

• Developing weekly plans, and implements age appropriate lesson plans using the Creative Curriculum to nurture and stimulate all domains of children’s development in their care.
• Create positive adult/child interactions using the CLASS method.
• Assures the education, health, welfare and safety of the children enrolled in their classroom and the center as a whole using ECERS/ITERS.
• Maintain ongoing, open communication with parents/ caregivers via Brightwheel App, email and in-person meetings.
• Perform on‐going developmental evaluations of children and plan periodical parent conferences to discuss children's developmental progress, needs and interests.
• Assist families with children's transitions from toddler to preschool and from preschool to kindergarten.
• Maintain accurate, complete and timely family and agency records; including daily meal and attendance records.
• Ensures that the Childcare Assistant is kept updated in all matters concerning the classroom and program, i.e. meetings, lesson plans, policies & procedures, training received.
• Provides functional training and guidance to staff, interns, substitutes and volunteers assigned to the classroom.
• Participate in on‐going in‐service and educational development opportunities provided by Healthy Kids.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associate's degree in Child Development, Child Development Certificate, Bachelor's Degree and or equivalent degree* OR*
• Infant and Toddler Child Care and Education Credential or other Office-recognized credential specific to infant/toddler developmental period (with 2 yrs of experience ) OR
• Child Development Credential (with 2 yrs experience) OR
• 9 Credits in Early Childhood or a related field with a plan of study leading to Associates or other Office recognized credential (with 2 years of experience)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must pass a full background check, including fingerprinting, references, SEL & SCR through NYS Office of Children and Family Services.
• Must be medically fit to perform all job duties, free of communicable disease including TB and provide documentation from a licensed physician within the past year.
• Warm, friendly, caring, upbeat personality. Exceptional people skills in dealing with young children, parents and staff. Professional, reliable and prompt.
• Must have the stamina and physical flexibility (walking, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, pulling, running, reaching, climbing, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.) without assistance to participate in children’s activities.
