The hospital offers a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) through a partnership with Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Responsibilities

The Echo Sonographer will produce diagnostically adequate documentation of all the anatomic malformations associated with heart disease. Cardiac sonographers must be familiar with cardiac anatomy and physiology and with the clinical aspects of cardiology. Cardiac sonographers must possess a keen understanding of ultrasound physics and instrumentation plus manual dexterity to manipulate a transducer. Performs Echocardiology procedures, electrocardiograms (EKGs), pediatric and neonatal EKG’s, pharmacological and exercise stress echoes, pharmacological and exercise cardiolyte procedures, stress testing, tilt table procedures, and holter monitoring.
Within procedure specifications and within scope of practice performs echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, pharmacological stress tests, nuclear stress tests, pharmacological nuclear stress tests, transesophogeal echocardiograms, tilt table tests, and Holter monitoring. Within scope of practice performs electrocardiograms pediatric and neonatal EKG’s. , pharmacological and exercise stress echoes, stress testing, tilt table procedures, and holter monitoring.
Education:
Required:
  • Accredited echocardiography program
Special Training: (including license):
Required:
  • Completion of an approved Arrhythmia course
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current RDCS certification
Preferred:
  • Certified Cardiovascular Tech
  • ACLS certification
Experience: (minimum, plus desired):
Required:
  • 2 years experience performing echos, dopplers, color flow doppler, Transesophageal echo.
  • 1 year experience in performing EKG testing, stress testing, Holter monitor and Event monitor set-up and scanning.
Preferred:
  • Clinical experienced RDCS
