The Educational Developmental Assistant will serve as the lead trainer in the Education Enrichment Centers. This position will provide direct supervision and support for the Education Enrichment Centers Job responsibilities include the following:
  • Provides transportation, instruction, and activities for residents attending the Educational Enrichment Centers within the assigned Division.
  • Responsible for day-to-day instruction and activities, resident assignments, schedule coordination, and other program organizational functions in their assigned area.
  • Daily functions include monitoring/oversight of programs, transportation of residents to and from the Educational Enrichment Centers, active treatment and operational efficiency of assigned area.
  • Assists with assessments and provides feedback to the Program Coordinator, Teachers, and other professional staff to facilitate progress and independence of the individuals.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

Qualified candidates must document on the application that they clearly possess all the following:


  • Basic knowledge of practical application of task analysis and goal writing.
  • Knowledge of practical application of behavioral programming techniques .
  • Working knowledge of characteristics of the population served and of the medium area when required for the particular job.
  • Skill in reading and writing.
  • Ability to instruct; to establish rapport and relate to the population served, their families, and a variety of service disciplines (social workers, doctors, psychologists, teachers, nurses, rehabilitation counselors).
  • Ability to observe behavior and communicate observations and recommendations effectively in oral and written form.
Management Preferences:
  • Experience in educational settings
  • Two years minimum experience providing direct services to people with developmental disabilities in a health care or related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Successful completion of CPI and CPR.
  • Possess a clear and valid Driver's License.
Physical Requirements:
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Other requirements: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, visual acuity, inside/outside activities.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of experience working with students in an educational environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
