The EDI Analyst is responsible for administrating and analyzing the EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) system applications and interacting with Customers/Vendors to educate them in using the different systems. This position will also perform and facilitate EDI interface analysis, development, and testing.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes and defines EDI requirements for clients, especially for needs and circumstances that are slightly unusual.
  • Provides advice and education to clients concerning EDI guidelines and capabilities.
  • Creates, develops, and produces mapping documents.
  • Collaborates with programmers and internal staff to develop and test new or modified systems.
  • Develops and maintains communication links with trading partners and oversees integration of information.
  • Periodically reviews system to ensure client needs are met; identifies possible modifications as required.
  • Remains current regarding EDI and internet field technological developments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze applications and present resolutions to technical and non-technical staff.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Creative problem-solving required to design a system that meets clients individual needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Collaborates with internal and external business partners to define business processes and information requirements by building on industry best practices and EDI standards.
  • Assists Customers/Vendors with implementations.
  • Utilizes the IT Software Development Life Cycle in the planning, directing, design, development, implementation, maintain and support of EDI systems.
  • Develops, recommends and implements best practices and quality process that produce repeatable and predictable results.
  • Experience with technical analysis, including the ability to discover and recommend solutions, define business impacts and provide analysis to new EDI initiatives and enhancements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to interact with Technology functional areas, business customers and external partners.
  • Installs and configures EDI software, scripts and EDI documents.
  • Works with staff to ensure effective infrastructure support is provided to maintain ongoing EDI operations, including the training of backup support staff, ensuring appropriate data backups are made.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrates commitment to total quality and the process of continuous improvement.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience with a solid understanding of EDI and business applications
  • Office suite software (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Google)
  • EDI standards (such as X12 or EDIFACT)
  • Programming languages (such as XML, CSV, SQL, Java, and AS2)
  • Experience with ERP’s
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems that arise and provide solution efficiently
