The ideal candidate is a life-long learner who is collaborative, proactive, highly organized, and passionate about delivering high-quality instruction that will create successful readers and writers.

What you'll do:

  • Working collaboratively with design and production throughout the publishing process;

  • Developing resource plans and guidelines;

  • Recruiting and managing freelance editorial support and/or outside development houses;

  • Anticipating and solving problems as they arise, including adjusting workflows and resource allocations, as well as creating work-arounds. Establish work processes aimed at continuous improvement in reduction of cycle time and quantity of output;

  • Support marketing staff in generating key messages used in development of sales collateral and training materials for sales reps and educational consultants;

  • Keep abreast of educational trends and competitive products by attending workshops and conferences, reading professional literature, and networking with educators and sales reps.

Who we're looking for:

  • 7+ years managing the development of K-5 reading/language arts products—both student and teacher facing components;

  • Deep experience in supporting the development of foundational reading skills in emergent bilingual learners.

  • Experience conceptualizing Reading products at K–2, particularly teacher materials;

  • Proven project management skills, attention to detail, and an ability to drive toward completion

  • Experience planning, scheduling, budgeting, and supervising staff and/or vendors;

  • A very hands-on approach; a willingness to contribute in detail to execution in order to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and editorial excellence;

  • Excellent writing and editing skills in Spanish and English

  • Ability to make informed and decisive decisions that will ensure successful execution of projects

  • Experience creating clear and detailed documentation that explains key processes and approaches;

  • Familiarity with national and state standards and assessments, including quantitative and qualitative text measures;

  • Ability to proactively and creatively solve problems related to product development;

  • Proven project management skills, attention to detail, and an ability to drive toward completion

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in education or teaching experience a plus.
