REPORTING STRUCTURE:

The Environmental, Health & Safety Manager (EHS) Mgr. is a key organizational leader contributing to the Safety and Employees of Dunmore – Keys to our success. Our goal is to offer employees a safe environment in which to grow and improve the quality of their lives and the lives of their families. This position reports directly to the OpCo, VP of Operations.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager has the ultimate responsibility for executing strategies that deliver a culture that promotes a safety mindset. Reporting to the Vice President Operations, this key resource works with the senior management team to plan and execute business strategies that result in a safe and environmentally responsible work environment. We require a commercially oriented EHS Manager who can build relationships at all levels to gain buy in and sustain credible EHS programs and solutions.

KEY GOALS

  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including those required by Occupational

Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

  • Monitor and communicate on changes being considered that affect our business on a timely basis and recommend effective responses.
  • Maintain a regular presence at production shift change meetings to proactively initiate discussions on safety topics.
  • Ensure all timely compliance with reporting and filing requirements for Dunmore

US sites per the monthly calendar. This includes all air emissions and hazardous waste reporting

  • Implement process to regularly audit operations for existing or potential accident and health hazards and recommend corrective or preventative measures
  • Work closely with Operations in supporting EHS needs including regular reviews of ergonomics and job safety hazards
  • Manages all Industrial Health programs including but not limited to chemical exposure monitoring, noise monitoring, respirator fit testing, hearing testing, first aid training.
  • Assist Operations in reviewing EHS components of capital projects
  • Maintain protocols for hazards in the workplace including dangerous chemicals, hazardous substances, and other risk exposures
  • Support effective accident and injury investigation process and follow up using lean tools including root cause analysis
  • Coordinate and establish emergency response preparedness, first aid training and facilitate drills to demonstrate competency
  • Develop and maintain effective EHS training for all business units, regularly conduct in-person safety training for shop floor personnel on all shifts. Maintains the Dunmore Safety Manual and the content of the Dunmore Safety Intranet.
  • Engage with VP of OPS and HR to design career talent development targets for all associates as it relates EHS skills.
  • Works with R&D Leadership to review new chemicals and Safety Data Sheets to ensure compliance with Chemical Hygiene Plan and to determine if any additional

PPE is required. Responds to customer requests and creates new SDS for Dunmore coatings as required.

  • Point of contact for Steel EHS initiatives and communications including incident reporting, monthly EHS Council calls and meetings, insurance audits and actions.
  • Direct support of Safety Committees, VPP Team and the Dunmore EHS Council

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passion for ensuring the well-being of people and desire to build a best-in-class EHS program
  • Self-starter capable of proactively assessing situations, identifying required actions, and recommending course of action in a timely manner.
  • Excellent analytical skills and written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, can multi-task and independently manage projects
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA management concepts, regulations, and practices
  • Demonstrated project management skills, attention to detail and consistent follow- up
  • Successful leadership development with specific examples of mentoring and coaching direct reports
  • Excellent PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite

EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline required.7 to 10 years track record of delivering results in EHS program development and management in Manufacturing environment

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to travel throughout production environment to oversee program implementation, including both Bristol, PA and Brewster, NY sites. Limited travel to Freiburg, Germany may be requested occasionally.
  • Work requires problem solving skills and ability to analyze data and make rational decisions
  • Must be able to communicate with others in a manner that results in clear direction and interaction
  • Work requires ability to utilize company computer equipment and software programs
  • Work requires ability to understand EHS principles to coach and mentor EHS team
  • Work requires ability to travel to company locations/meetings including maintaining credit card to pay expenses (to be reimbursed) and driving rental vehicles/flying
  • Work may require occasional lifting, carrying, bending in the investigation of accidents and injuries

Pay: From $95,000.00 per year
