Responsibilities
● Create a classroom culture of joy and urgency with high expectations for all scholars;
● Continuously develop instructional expertise by deeply engaging in weekly professional development and 1-1 coaching with
Instructional coaches;
● Administer formative and summative assessments as required;
● Internalize and execute grade level lesson plans with fidelity and create reteach (whole and small group) plans as needed based on
STEP, MAP, and Interim Assessment data;
● Communicate daily with all families regarding scholar academic and social/emotional progress through school-based applications
(apps), phone, and email;
● Maintain accurate and detailed documentation on scholar progress through scholar portfolios and progress report cards, and
assessment files;
● Consistently provide acceleration and support interventions for designated scholars;
● Lead and support schoolwide and grade level initiatives such as Parent University Nights, Spread the Love Week, Black History
Month, 100th Day of School, Awards Ceremony;
● Participate in school wide initiatives such as weekend recruitment events, evening parent workshops, and other events with advanced
notice outside of regular work week;
● Perform other duties, as deemed appropriate, by the Director of Culture and Instruction.

Qualifications/Certification. All candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree is a plus. Georgia certification or other state certification preferred, or willingness/eligibility to pursue a teaching certification.

Prior Experience. At least 2 years of full-time teaching experience at elementary or middle school level and a demonstrated ability to raise achievement levels of traditionally underserved students highly preferred. Sense of humility, urgency, and interest in growing. Excellent
written and verbal communication skills.
