SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Engineering Technician III.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: SEACORP is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician III that is able to perform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed. The Engineering Technician III will select or adapt standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents. This employee will receive initial instruction, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed; performs recurring work independently; work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.

Essential Capabilities:

  • Constructs components, sub-units, cables, or complete units of special purpose test equipment.
  • May troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
  • Develops bill of material sheets finding vendors and components from drawings to provide accurate pricing for finished products.
  • Follows specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and sub-units of equipment.
  • Conducts various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement; selects, sets up, and operates standard test equipment and records test data.
  • Extracts and compiles a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc.; processes data, identifying errors or inconsistencies; selects methods of data presentation.
  • Assists in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials which are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts.
  • Develops information concerning previous operational failures and modifications.
  • Uses judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data or drawing packages and seeks sources to clarify information.

Salary Range:

  • $45,843 - $64,180

Qualifications:

Education: Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Engineering Technology desired, but not required.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of work related experience in electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems.

As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Standard Offices and Electronics Assembly & Testing Labs: Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting. In the Laboratory setting, significant use of small hand and electrical tools that require fine motor skills. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs., occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling and squatting. Some potential exposure to fumes associated with soldering.
