English/Language Arts Teacher - Schenectady , NY
Sign On Bonus - $2,500
Northern Rivers is seeking an English/Language Arts Teacher at the School at Northeast in Schenectady. This opening is for a NYSED or out of state certified teacher with an aptitude in English/Language Arts Teacher. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of English/Language Arts classroom instructional plans for students. In this role, you will provide subject area instruction (English/Language Arts) that follow the NYS K-12 English/Language Arts Curricula and prepare students for exit examinations and statewide assessments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- English/Language Arts instructional materials to provide individual and small group instruction to students of various ability levels,
- Classroom instructional plans with the Special Education Teacher (SET) that integrates the student’s IEP goals and objectives, learning style, as well as accommodations and modifications that are needed, and
- Work with the Special Education Teacher (SET) on individual and classroom behavior plans for managing student behavior to maintain discipline in the classroom.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in Special Education or subject area, as appropriate, and ability to work with students who demonstrate serious emotional and behavioral challenges, ages 6-21 or Bachelor’s degree with enrollment in a program that leads to a Master’s degree may be considered.
