Position Summary:

Plays a key role in ensuring that organizational projects and initiatives meet objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage. This role focuses on the people side of change, which involves preparing, supporting and equipping people to adopt and use changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles, organization structures, and more. Partners with business leaders across the organization on change management, cultural transformation issues, and communications. Responsible for driving faster adoption, higher utilization, and proficiency of our programs and services resulting in increased benefit realization, value creation, and the achievement of business results and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Develop and implement change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage of required changes.
  • Drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization of changes, and proficiency with the changes that impact employees who must use the changes in their daily work. These improvements increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI, and the achievement of results and outcomes.
  • Collaborating with and coaching key leaders and partners across the organization to ensure successful change sponsorship.
  • Develop and apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities. Leverage a change management methodology, process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative.
  • Support communication efforts and enable the design, development, delivery and management of key communications.
  • Assess the change impact by conducting impact analyses, assessing change readiness, and identifying key stakeholders.
  • Support training efforts by providing input, documenting requirements, and supporting the design and delivery of training programs.
  • Create actionable deliverables for the core change management plans: Sponsor Plan, People Manager Plan, Communications Plan, and Training Plan.
  • Develop plans and efforts to anticipate and minimize resistant behaviors from employees and stakeholders who are impacted by the changes.
  • Understand developing trends in change management to apply best practices at Port Houston.
  • Act in accordance with Port Houston core values (respect, excellence, accountability, diligence, and you).
  • Perform other duties as required.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in change management, internal communications or training experience.
  • Change management certification (CCMP, Kotter, 7-S, or ADKAR) required or acquired within first 24 months in role.
  • Consulting capabilities preferred.
