About the Position:
Cactus Family Farms is currently hiring a full time Environmental Maintenance Technician for our location in Metter or Statesboro, Georgia area!
Job Description:
The Environmental Maintenance Technician is a full-time position responsible for maintaining the farms and outside facilities of Cactus Family Farms in Statesboro, Georgia, and Manning, South Carolina.
Job Responsibilities:

• Managing the application of manure through irrigation systems
• Operate and maintain lagoon pumps
• Operate and maintain pivot sprinklers
• Coordinate manure pumping with neighboring farmer

• Operating tractors and mowers
• Plowing, mowing weeds and grass; maintaining vegetation around lagoons

• Facility Maintenance
• General outside building maintenance, fans; feed bins and augers; cool cells; water wells
• Fence repairs and construction
• Equipment repairs
• Mowing and weedeating

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 2- year associates degree in Agronomy or Environmental Science is preferred
• Physical labor including lifting more than 50 lbs., walking, and working with hands
• Must have the ability to obtain State required Manure Applicator certifications
• Farm labor experience is preferred but not required
• Understanding irrigation systems and practices.
• Possess knowledge and understanding of water wells and pumps
• Travel required between the two locations.
• Company vehicle and gas for work travel will be provided

• Must have the ability to work independently and be individually accountable for results
• Possess basic computer skills such as excel, word, and outlook.
