Job Location: Eielson AFB, Alaska
Full Time: 40 Hours/week Monday-Friday
Starting wage: DOE ($19-$23/hour)

We have two immediate openings on Eielson AFB, AK as a Material Handler at the Installation's hazardous waste facility. Material Handlers perform waste and materials transportation, consolidation, inspections, sampling, material handling, warehouse operations, and various other environmental and industrial services. Applicants with a commercial driver's license will primarily operate pickup and stake bed trucks for on base or local operations associated to their primary position as a Material Handler. Non experienced applicants are welcome to apply.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Hold Safety program requirements as priority one/always acting in a safe manner
- Assist with the management of waste and collection areas for regulatory compliance
- Inspect, label, containerize, consolidate, and transport hazardous waste/materials
- Material handling operations
- Assist sampling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste
- Load and position waste containers using manual and mechanical means
- Utilize EESOH-MIS gov waste tracking system/data entry
- Process petroleum contaminated water
- Provide exceptional customer service and client relations
- General labor/Housekeeping
- Perform routine/daily inspections on vehicles and equipment
- Operate forklifts, lift gates, plow vehicles, flatbed/box trucks
- Abide by company drug-free policy including recreational and medicinal marijuana
- Follow all established company and client policies and procedures
- Accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Possess or obtain a 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification prior to first day of employment (Can be completed online)
- Pass pre-employment drug screening including marijuana
- Valid driver's license (CDL Preferred) with clean driving record
- Able to read, write, and understand the English Language
- Maintain a neat and clean professional appearance
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
- Ability to pass occupational and DOT physicals
- Ability to wear a respirator
- Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic, always treating others with respect
- Possess basic computer skills
- Ability to pass required background checks for military installation access
