Environmental Services Tech I

Position Summary:

Works to ensure offices, patient/guest rooms, and other specified areas are kept in a clean and orderly condition to ensure compliance with established organization standards. Reports maintenance deficiencies and complies with safety guidelines and security procedures. The Environmental Services Tech I has a positive, compassionate and customer-service oriented attitude.

Responsibilities:

• Provides routine daily cleaning
• Cleans and sterilizes operating and sterile procedure rooms
• Obtains and utilizes knowledge of materials, chemical, equipment and action processes in cleaning and maintenance of select areas
• Stocks closets, service carts and storerooms; maintains cleanliness of equipment and housekeeping closet
• Transports waste, recyclables, and biohazard wastes, disposes as appropriate
• Arranges Kootenai Health meeting rooms as instructed
• Operates heavy cleaning equipment as needed
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
• Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous housekeeping experience preferred

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs

• Must be able to maintain a standing position
• Must be able to stoop or crouch
• Must be able to push, pull, or transport heavy equipment
• Must be able to reach arms above or below shoulder height
• Required to bend
