Environmental Team Lead

Cedarville Engineering Group (CEG) is a Civil & Environmental Design-Build firm focused on serving public sector clients. We offer engineering, environmental, construction and geospatial services. We maintain offices in Pottstown Pennsylvania, Alexandria VA, and Pensacola FL with project sites along the Eastern Seaboard and in Gulf Coast states. Note that experience with federal government contracting is required for this role.

Due to tremendous growth we are seeking a Lead for our Environmental Team. This is a senior level technical position for an experienced professional who will manage staff and participate in business development.

Position Description

The Environmental Lead serves as a Subject Matter Expert with project management, staff development, and business development responsibilities. CEG is built around project managers and their teams. These teams vary by project and may be comprised of staff from multiple disciplines at different times. It is the role of the individual Team Leads to provide QA/QC for the work produced by their Team. It is imperative that the Team Lead can provide quality assurance on the scope, schedule and fee for their Team’s projects.

You will serve as a supervisor/mentor for a team of environmental professionals. To meet the diverse needs of our clients, our Team consists of professionals with diverse skills including environmental compliance, soil & groundwater investigation, petroleum storage tank compliance and remediation, natural resource management, permitting, and asbestos/lead paint abatement. The Team Lead should be a champion of the staff working within each program, not necessarily the technical expert. The keys to success in the position are developing the skills and cohesiveness of the Team while serving the needs of the client.

The Environmental Team Lead will become part of the CEG Leadership Team along with other Team Leads from other disciplines and Company/Operations Management. Our culture emphasizes communication and collaboration. You will be asked to embrace and participate in the CEG plan for growth and excellence as the Company continues to implement our strategy to build a great place for great people to work.

Project Management Responsibilities

The Environmental Lead should contribute to the successful growth of CEG as a Program or Project Manager for a variety of projects. Projects responsibilities include:

· Developing proposals including project scope and budget estimates including labor and materials.

· Delivering projects on time and within budget.

· Serving as the primary Point of Contact with clients for specific projects.

· Develop, lead, and supervise project teams; including delegation of work to junior staff.

· Reviewing monthly billing/status reports and associated client invoices.

· Monitoring project progress to ensure deliverables meet project objectives.

· Identifying and communicating any project risks in a timely manner.

· Reviewing staff timesheets on a weekly basis for all staff charging time to projects.

· Preparing Project Profiles summarizing project outcomes and impacts.

Client Facing Responsibilities

Team Leads are part of the CEG Business Development Team. The Business Development Team has resources dedicated to marketing, sales, and proposal development but relies on the CEG Team Leads for input on scope, schedule and fee. Perhaps the most critical part of your business development responsibilities will be to ensure that your Team produces quality work and maintains CEGs ultra-high standards for communication and responsiveness.
