JOB DESCRIPTION
The Events Coordinator creates, implements, and manages all logistical aspects of group events on-campus as assigned within the Enrollment Management division. The Coordinator is required to perform all significant functions necessary for the university to successfully accomplish its educational business and serve the needs of students and families visiting campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Point person for all on-campus prospective student visits during group visits, and special events. Creates and communicates schedules to various team members while overseeing the logistics of the event.
- Responsible for supporting management of all staff members, graduate assistants, student workers, Student Ambassador program students and necessary details leading up to, during, and after events.
- Ensures all facility and food requests are made within reasonable timelines and are properly executed on event days. Troubleshoots all issues that may arise related to hosting an event.
- Creates a guest experience that ensures their successful visit to campus.
- Initiates and presents ideas and proposals to grow events and campus visits.
- Develops, implements, and maintains the Student Ambassador program. Works closely with the Campus Visit Coordinator and Director team to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of the program.
- Assists and allocates events budget as assigned.
- Produces, implements, compiles, and reviews all surveys and evaluations from prospective students, visiting sponsors and/or family members, staff members, graduate assistants, student workers, and faculty.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Prefer a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience in a related field. An ORU graduate is preferred.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- One year of related work experience in a similar work setting is preferred.
- Must be computer literate to include a strong familiarity with a Windows environment. Familiarity with Banner and Microsoft Excel is a plus, but the department is willing to train.
- Must have good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Supervisory skills and/or experience will serve as a plus due to the large number of student workers involved in the visitation program.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are paramount for effective communication with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Must be self-motivated and have the ability to motivate and organize student workers.
- Must have the ability to effectively work with staff, administration, students and parents from varying cultural backgrounds.
TRAVEL:
Must have a valid Driver’s license in order to occasionally drive a rented, university owned or one’s own vehicle.
