Summary of Position
The Browne Center www.brownecenter.com works with a variety of youth and student populations to promote community building, learning and personal growth.
With a long history of working with schools and universities, The Browne Center has developed a year-long curriculum developing skills in Social and Emotional Learning. Whether participating in a year-long, integrated, school-based program or a “peak day” at The Browne Center challenge course, our programs enhance skills in:
  • Empathy
  • Communication and Leadership
  • Team Development and Community Building
  • Trust
  • Self Awareness and Advocacy
  • Healthy Risk Taking and Resiliency
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging
Our facilities include: a 52-element challenge course, a climbing chimney, an orienteering course, a seminar building, yurts and access to over 100 acres on the Great Bay.
Youth and Student Programs facilitator responsibilities include:
  • Delivery of one-off or scaffolded portable games/problem solving activities and low and high challenge course program.
  • Delivery of programming both on-site at The Browne Center as well as off-site at area schools and universities.
Position Duration:
This position is per-diem and has a varied and flexible schedule dependent on client needs and typically runs March-November.
We are looking for individuals who:
Ø Have strong group facilitation skills and/or a background working with school-aged populations
Ø Have a solid foundation in professional (low and high) challenge course work or ability to acquire necessary technical training
Ø Interact in a positive and productive manner with clients
Ø Want to work in a kind, caring environment with adults and youth dedicated to building healthy communities
Ø Are looking for flexible, seasonal work

Required Qualifications
Required skills include:
  • Technical competency on challenge courses (low elements & dynamic high elements), demonstrated through technical skills evaluation scheduled with the Director of Youth and Student Programs or PCL2.
  • Facilitating cooperative games and problem-solving initiatives
  • Ability to design an activity sequence based on client’s desired outcomes/needs
  • Applicants must have current First Aid and CPR certification or be willing to attain them quickly.

Preferred Qualifications
Ideal Candidates would have:
  • Current ACCT PCL1 or PCL2 certification or equivalent documented experience
  • Experience as a Lead Facilitator: managing single and multiple facilitator program
  • Experience and comfort working directly with clients from needs assessment to delivery and post-program follow-up.

Salary Information
Compensation:
  • Starting pay rate: $180/day and up DOE. Tiered pay increases based on days-worked at The Browne Center documented through ACCT portfolio.
