Job description
The F&B Manager will be responsible for managing the complete operations of Food and Beverage Services: includes restaurants, banquets & room service.
JOB DUTIES
- Supervise, guide and direct F&B employees. Establishing and maintaining standards, policies, and procedures. Provide timely constructive feedback on performance to employees to help them to perform their jobs better
- Prepare schedules, manage labor expenses based upon budgets and business levels. Process daily/weekly/monthly payroll reporting.
- Assist with recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning responsibilities, coaching, and corrective action.
- Ensure that service employees are trained on technical and service aspects of the job, and all preparation of food and drinks follows the brand standards. Provide constructive feedback to employees to help them to perform their jobs better.
- Work with management to ensure that employees have the necessary resources to effectively perform their jobs. (e.g., supplies, equipment).
- Routinely provide skill tests for all service staff.
- Ensure employees have and maintain appropriate certifications for their position.
- Establish and maintain an effective communication and information system through logs, emails, daily and weekly meetings, and open communication with all departments.
- Collaborate with management to recognize and celebrate employee performance contributions. (e.g., department recognition programs).
- Ensure that department goals are communicated, understood, and met by all employees.
- Assist staff on the floor during all service periods.
- Meet F&B objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans by reviewing, preparing, and completing action plans, productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
- Provide a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety programs and Health Department requirements.
- Responsible for Guest Satisfaction in terms of food and beverage, hospitality, and service standards.
- Oversee Banquet events by ensuring that rooms are set-up in accordance with customer satisfaction and maintaining brand standards.
- Monitor the performance of the menu, both on guest feedback & profitability. Ensure menu compliance with brand standards. Modify menus routinely and as needed.
- Maximize food and bar profitability by ensuring portion control and quantities of preparation, minimizing waste, and ensuring high quality of preparation.
- Manage active bar experience and coordinate compliance with brand standards.
- Ensure compliance with all health department standards and responsible alcohol and food service.
- Monitor and inspect food and beverage deliveries.
- Inspect F&B product for proper storage, sanitation, security, neatness, and rotation of inventory.
- Conduct daily/weekly/monthly inventories for control and ordering.
- Maintain adequate inventories, place orders, and ensure proper receiving process.
- Monitor and document liquor pars daily/weekly and monthly. Ensure compliance with bottle for bottle exchange.
- Develop and carry-out ideas and procedures to continuously improve the department’s performance.
- Manage Agilisys POS. Supervise and reconcile cash controls for each shift in attendance.
- All other duties as instructed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Two to five years previous experience as Food and Beverage Manager within hospitality industry, preferably hotels.
- Prior experience managing multiple outlets and a background in hotels is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of safety programs and regulations.
- Must have an unexpired Food Handlers Safety Certificate.
- Read, write, and speak English fluently. Spanish skills helpful.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with other business departments, guests, and vendors.
- Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
- Ability to respond to inquiries, handle complaints and create a sense of satisfaction to employees and guests.
- Needs to be flexible, self-motivated, and positive and have a professional attitude towards guests, co-workers, and employees.
- Experience in meeting deadlines and multiple priorities of business demands as required. Possess basic knowledge of business contracts.
- Basic computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing and email.
- Must work well with or without direct supervision.
- Must always project a professional image.
- Ability to be mobile for an entire shift. Ability to lift and safely move up to 35 pounds. Ability to twist, turn and reach high places.
- Must be available to work varied shifts to include early mornings, late nights and weekends.
- Participation in the hotels MOD program is required.

Fast-paced work environment which requires ability to manage multiple projects at a detailed level. Many of the job duties are time-sensitive and have strict deadlines for completion. Will be required to work onsite at hotel; not a work from home (or) hybrid opportunity at this time.
